Nichole M. Austin
Nichole Austin obtained her juris doctor degree from UB Law, where she served as an Executive Publications Editor on the Buffalo Law Review and as a member of the Moot Court Board. During her time in law school, Ms. Austin won multiple recognitions for excellence in writing, including the Justice Philip Halpern Award upon graduation. She was also a winner of the Buffalo Law Review’s student Note and Comment Competition and won Best Brief, along with her competition partner, in the 2020 Charles S. Desmond Moot Court Competition. Ms. Austin was also a James Kent Faculty Research Scholar and interned/externed with United States Magistrate Judge Marian Payson in the Western District of New York while in law school.
Prior to law school, Ms. Austin earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology and philosophy with a minor in linguistics from SUNY Geneseo and her master’s degree in philosophy from SUNY Albany. While her diverse academic background has taken her many places, she has found the most fulfillment in the practice of law.
During law school, Ms. Austin developed a special interest in the field of torts. After working for several years on the defense side, Ms. Austin switched to representing plaintiffs in need of quality representation. She assists in all matters handled by Faraci Lange, including medical malpractice and general negligence. Ms. Austin also has experience in commercial litigation assisting both plaintiffs and defendants.
