Three employees were fired at Crest Manor, a Perinton nursing home facility, after footage showed inappropriate behavior in a patient's room.
Statements from the director of the nursing home reveal that at least one of the staff members was seen dancing inappropriately on a patient's bed while the elder patient was present.
All three of the employees were certified nursing assistants.
A statement from Crest Manor read, "On September 9th, Crest Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center was anonymously notified of video recordings involving two of our residents....The recordings displayed certified nurse's aides disrespectfully teasing the residents. Neither of the residents involved in the videotaped incidents were physically harmed."
The owner of Crest Manor reported the incident to the attorney general's office and the state Department of Health. An investigation is currently being conducted.
Alana Russell, an advocate of nursing home care, stated her concern. "I think it is disappointing, and I think it is just unacceptable behavior in a professional setting."
