Senator Michael Nozzolio (R-54th District) called on Excellus BlueCross BlueShield to provide answers to victims of the massive cyberattack that has possibly left thousands of Excellus customers and their information vulnerable to theft.
"The massive security breach raises many important questions that, to date, remain unanswered," wrote Senator Nozzolio, in a letter to the CEO of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield last month.
"Victims of this cyberattack simply have not been provided with adequate information about the scope and nature of the unauthorized access of their confidential personal and medical information," he added.
Now, Excellus has responded to Nozzolio's concerns, including how this cyberattack was carried out and why it took over five weeks for the company to notify its subscribers.
